LA Alexander Postgraduate Scholarship

Brief Description:


Financial assistance to enable students to undergo education or research in all or any of the fields of agriculture, horticulture and all types and purposes of farming. Research topics related to the broader Taranaki’s agricultural environment will be given priority.

Eligibility Criteria:


Available to students who have completed a degree and intend to pursue further postgraduate study. Priority will be given to students born, educated or working in the Taranaki/Waverley region who already hold a Degree in agriculture or horticulture or a related topic are eligible to apply.

The scholarship can be held concurrent with others.

Required Documents:


  1. Letter of intent: Include details of your course of study, why you have chosen this, and any other relevant information (i.e. work history) in support of your application.

  2. Certified copies of your previous year’s courses/subjects showing results achieved.

  3. Letter of commendation from your supervisor with details of the proposed course and funding sources (requested online).

  4. Certified copy of documentation to support your eligibility for this scholarship: Either a birth certificate or proof that you were either born, educated or work in the Taranaki/Waverley region.
