Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa Education Grants - Pou Tina (Postgraduate), Pou Whenua (Undergraduate), Pou Wānanga (Tertiary) 2025

Brief Description:

Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa Trust is committed to assisting our members to realise their educational aspirations and academic success. Our education grants are guided by the Educational Grants policy and the key principles of the policy are:

  • Facilitating opportunities for Te Atiawa iwi members to be well educated and to participate in life-long learning;
  • Promoting and rewarding educational excellence;
  • Facilitating access to quality education and training opportunities; and
  • Fostering a commitment to contribute the knowledge and skills gained through education for the future benefit of Te Atiawa iwi.



Application Information:

  • Applicants are eligible to receive one grant or scholarship in a calendar year.
  • All applications will be reviewed for completeness and satisfaction of the application criteria.
  • Any applications that are incomplete or do not satisfy the application criteria will not continue through the process.
  • All submitted applications will be presented to the Grants Committee for review and the successful applications will be approved within the available budget.
  • The Grants Committee decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • All applicants successful or unsuccessful, will be notified of the outcome within ten (10) working days of the Grants Committee meeting.



Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be of Te Atiawa descent and a registered member of Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa Trust (if you would like to register, please complete an online registration form; the whakapapa committee only meets quarterly so we ask that you contact the office to find out when you may receive your confirmation of registration);
  • Be enrolled with a government-recognised tertiary institution in New Zealand;
  • Submit a fully completed application and all required information by the closing date (incomplete or late applications will not be considered);
  • Grants are open to full-time, part-time and fees free students who meet the criteria.



Required Documents:

  • Provide proof of enrolment for the year 2025 of the grant application and a transcript or report of the applicant’s grades for the previous year; and
  • Provide acceptable evidence of a bank account (statement or internet banking screenshot) that included the bank logo, (clearly visible), your name as it appears on the account, and the bank account number.
