MANAAKITANGA – SHARING AND CARING
Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Trust (Te Korowai) operates education scholarships to assist iwi members with their education and training aspirations. The scholarships are a mechanism to attain higher/further education and to enhance positive outcomes as uri of Ngāruahine. This policy is a direct connection to Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Trust and caring for Ngāruahine uri.
SCHOLARSHIP PRIORITIES
Scholarships will be awarded to applicants whose programme of study and career aspirations contribute to the strategic objectives of Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Trust.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
Be of Ngāruahine descent.
Be endorsed by a registered iwi member of Te Korowai o Ngāruahine Trust.
Be attending an NZQA recognised tertiary programme, delivered in Aotearoa.
Be at least 16 years of age.
Previous award recipients are eligible to reapply. You will need to provide an updated CV, your academic transcript and a short narrative about your academic year.
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
Applicants will need to show how well they meet the following criteria:
Involvement in Ngāruahine.
Whanau involvement in Ngāruahine.
Alignment of programme and career aspirations with the
Te Korowai vision, mission and strategic objectives
.
Level of te reo Māori proficiency.
Their main activity for the past 12 months.
CONDITIONS OF A SCHOLARSHIP
To receive the scholarship successful recipients must sign the scholarship agreement that specifies the conditions and accountability.
